Project Nomad by Sebatianos (sebatianos@yahoo.co.uk or sebatianos@hotmail.com) I realize that I may have miss-spelled the names and races, but they will still be easy enough to recognize (the problem is that some are so strange I simply can’t remember them). This is some sort of a walkthrough for this game (although it’s more a list of tips). First off I’ll give you the story as I understood it: There were the Lostenesee. They were extremely advanced and were the creators of all other races (this may be wrong, but from what I understood it’s a fair guess that they are). There are two races that are excepted (Altec Hoker – beings of energy and Sashaa – worm like creatures). The Lostenesee have disappeared from their world LOSTEN. The Master Control Robot (MCR) was left in charge of the Korok (robots which were serving the Lostenesee). After the MCR left the world of LOSTEN it couldn’t return, because the world is protected by a Gateway. So in order to ensure the survival of the Korok it started reprogramming them. MCR is currently trying to gain control of the whole galaxy and extinguish all the organic creatures. But there were four Exploration class robots created prior to MCR’s control and those four robots hold the key to the gateway! Now the story on Earth isn’t very clear either. From what I could make out, there was a ship sent from Earth to some point in space. But while in space this ship was damaged and repaired – but all the navigational programming was erased. The craft is refitted at space station Hawking, but once it’s launched it can’t communicate with Earth anymore. You’re the pilot of that craft and you’re the only representative of the human race in the galaxy. First off you’ll meet an Arden named Brin O’Keef. She’s the one who repaired your ship. It doesn’t really matter if you select the option that you’re a fighter or not when asked, but as a fighter you’ll get some missiles and you should put them to good use already, as there’s a hostile ship there (probably the one that damaged your craft in the first place). After destroying this Vandal you should navigate to the planet of Maka Bola and contact the Planet ComNet there. On this planet ComNet you’ll find different missions (from delivering certain goods from one planet to the other, to distress calls, to seek and destroy missions and even recovery/espionage missions to planets). After every mission you’ll get some rewards. Some will be very helpful, while others won’t really be of much use, but if nothing else you’ll get things you’ll be able to trade for the things you will need! Also after completing a certain amount of missions you’ll get promoted. Now here are some things that you will really need: Missiles – Hunter missiles are the standard ones, but also the weakest. You should try to get the Quietus missiles, which can destroy all enemy ships with the first strike (except for two ships). The two ships that can’t be destroyed with a single missile are the Master Ship (the ship of MCR) and the Guardian (the ship of WR6000 – the most dangerous ship of the enemy fleet). For those two ships you’ll require two shots! MLoaders – these are missile loaders. They load the missiles and the faster they are, the less time it will take you to reload. This is extremely important in a battle. I suggest Seeker Two MLoaders. Shields – I suggest you use the Ursor Mighty Fence Booster (it’s the strongest shield you can get, right until the very end of the game). Jammers – the best one is Tangle Jammer (they prevent the communication between enemy ships, so they don’t get reinforcements while attacked). There’s also an option to get the scanners and engine boosters (you should get them, but they don’t really play such a big role). Arch Bot – this is a robot you can send down to planets (except for inhabited Korok planets) and it will retrieve stuff. It’s best used in a combination with a Work-Long-Bot- Booster (so I suggest you get that one too). Random Generator – you’ll need this one to repair one of the Korok robots. Stealth Shield – this is a secret weapon that you’ll be able to get only after your final promotion. This will insure you some stealth (but that’s not 100%). You’ll need this if you wish to get beyond the Gateway of Losten. Alien Alloy Tablet – this is an ancient artifact, that will give you the name PARAMIS. Without this one you can’t get two of the codes for the gateway. Here’s a quick observation. While trading with aliens you should be careful of their mood. If they are smiling they will be helpful. If their lips are straight, they are indifferent and if they look mad, they will be very mean (Phelonese may even decide to attack you). You can improve their mood by giving them gifts (but if the gift isn’t big enough they will be insulted). Now another observation that I made was this, all other races are very un-intelligent. Some don’t even wanna talk, all are narrow minded and you can only learn a few things from them, but really only a few helpful things (most is just crap). OK – and now for a walkthrough (sort of): Follow the missions and try to trade for all of the items given above. The missions are made in such a way, that sooner or later you’ll get close to the worlds that you’ll need to reach, but you can explore on your own using the system maps. Here’s what you need to do that’s now a part of the mission! If you want to get to Phelonese worlds quickly you should hail the first ship at Second Harmony (the ship will also hail you). The alien will have certain objects and among other things also a Phelonese star map. Once you obtain it go to inventory and view this map (all the planets should be in the data base now). In order to get the Quietus missiles from the Phelonese, the best tactic is to get as many Crystal Velos missiles (from the people at Second harmony – and others of that race *can’t remember the name*). Here’s also a little trick you can use. You should trade the Crystal missiles for Death Strike missiles first (most Phelonese will only carry Death Strike missiles anyway). You should always offer all of your missiles and demand five more of their missiles (and keep trading back and forth for a while). Example: You have 60 Crystal missiles. You demand 65 Death Strike missiles. Then you offer 55 Death Strike missiles for the 60 Crystal missiles. So you’ll get all your missiles back and you’ll have 10 additional Death Strike missiles. Repeat this for a while until you have many missiles. Then find an alien with Quietus missiles (you can also try this trick for a while to get some more missiles). You need to get the random generator. There is a guy named Eri’ick at the planet Aa’chive who has it (Eri’ick is flying a ship named Clo’osetta). To find this planet you should talk to the first ship near the planet Spa’are (that’s where you have to deliver the medical supplies from your first mission) and tell that alien (I think it’s Oo’lliee) that you’re lost. You’ll get the coordinates needed. Unfortunately you’ll need a full load of Hunter missiles for the trade! Careful, you can’t have more then 255 of any commodity. To get this number of Hunter missiles it’s best to trade with Crystal Velos missiles. All the stuff (apart from Hunter missiles) that you can trade for the Crystal Velos missiles you should trade (even if you need that stuff – you can always trade to get it back later). You can get some 10 Hunter missiles for each Crystal Velos missile – so this is the fastest way to get to those 255 you’ll need. Once you have them ask Eri’ick for the random generator. Once you have the generator you’ll need to find Bob-clo-cli-mar. I found him at the planet Griss (second planet in sector 2.0). But he’ll only appear there after some conditions have been met (at least I think so). When I tried to look for him at first, I had no luck, but after I explored some things I found Bob at Griss. What did I explore? I was talking to Altec Hoker about all the races (and they were sending me from one AH to the other to get additional information and I’ve found the EX-3 and EX-4 robots). Altec Hoker are telepathic beings. As soon as you get to a planet with one, you are talking to it. If you want to stop talking simply sign off and you’ll be in the normal orbit around the planet. Just visit some planets with them (each will tell you which one specializes in which race and you can simply follow those coordinates, they usually live near the outermost planet). You can find the EX-3 robot at the planet KGA00 (first planet in sector 3.5). It’s on the Supply ship (I think it’s number 7). If there are other Korok ships there you may wanna destroy them, but DO NOT destroy the supply ship. After other ships are destroyed leave the planet (otherwise you’ll have to fight and destroy the EX-3 or be destroyed yourself) – and then return. Hail the ship and try to talk to the robot (but not for too long). You can find the EX-4 at the planet KOB01 (second planet in sector 2.7). This is the only fully functional independent Korok. Talk to him. I visited the Altec Hoker only after I’ve talked to the robots (so I could ask about them as well). And then Bob-clo-cli-mar should be at planet Griss. Give him the random generator and he’ll fix it (you’ll get back the re-random generator). Go to KGA00 and give the Re- random generator to EX-3. It will still malfunction, but it will reinitialize the EX program. You should get the CODE: BLUE. Remember the number you get. The gateway consists of four colors and each color has five groupings. You need to select the correct ones. Now the next part is a bit risky! You need to find some Korok robots. Either WR4000 or WR5000 (they are flying in the cruisers) and talk to them. As long as they are scanning your ship you can talk (and even trade with them), but once they identify you as the enemy you should run or fight. Ask the Korok about the EX-3 (or EX-4). You’ll get the report of what happened to the EX class Koroks. You should also get the coordinates for KGC01-OrigII. This is a dead planet. Go to KGC01-OrigII and send down an Arch Bot (in a combination with Work-long-bot- booster; it can be in a combination with something else, but I think this one works best). When the Bot completes the search it should retrieve the head of EX-1. If not fly around and talk about this planet ad EX robots to Altec Hoker, EX-4 or other Korok robots (but be careful). Once you get the head go to the inventory and view it. It will tell you about the self destruction of EX-1 and it will give you the CODE RED (second of the four codes needed)!!! After you get the code you can give the head to EX-4 as a noble gesture. Next you need get the highest possible rank (while doing all of the above you should accomplish some of the missions posted on planet ComNets as well). With the highest rank you’ll get some missiles, engine boosters and TWO important things. First will be the clearance papers for the STEALTH SHIELD (you have to give the papers to Vege Keef, who’s flying the ship Frea Tec, usually stationed at Maka Bola) and the second will be an ANCIENT DOCUMENT (Eri’ick also has it, but I couldn’t trade for it – yet at the end you get it as a gift with your promotion). I’m not sure if the locations are random or not, but I think they aren’t because I was also able to go straight to the planet and collect the ALLOY TABLET even before I got the ANCIENT DOCUMENT. Now the ancient document tells you of two planets (Indi 6 and Alphard 2). Go to Alphard 2 and send down the Arch Bot. It will retrieve an ALIEN ALLOY TABLET. On this tablet will be the name PARAMIS. Go to EX-4 and either ask him about PARAMIS or give fact PARAMIS. As soon as EX- 4 heard the name, it will recognize it will give you the CODE YELLOW (so only one left to go). The last CODE GREEN lays with the last EX robot. It’s the robot reprogrammed by the MCR. Now it is known as WR6000. Every time I tried to contact this robot it told me it couldn’t overwrite the programming and signed off before I could speak. But after I found Eld-clo (he’s the one who’s suppose to tell you all about the STEALTH SHIELD) I’ve succeeded. I found Eld-clo at Retrebution (a Musin planet in sector 4.5). I gave him some missiles and he started to smile. He wouldn’t tell me anything about the SHIELD. I asked about the shield and displayed the shield (I even gave him the shield and bought it back). I don’t know which of these things did it (but I think giving the shield away was a mistake), but obviously that’s what should happen. When I got to LOSTEN I could finally communicate with WR6000 long enough to say PARAMIS and got the final CODE GREEN! If I haven’t mentioned before, LOSTEN is the third planet in the 2.6 sector. There’s also the MASTERSHIP of MASTER CONTROL ROBOT. When I got all the CODES I navigated and entered the GATEWAY. First there’s the red color. The numbers are changing with the time, so just wait for the right number to come up and select the grouping. If you get all four of them right the GATEWAY will vanish. Then send down the Arch Bot and it will bring back the FAIL SAFE DEVICE. When you communicate and use this device, you’ll see the ship of MCR blow up – and you’ll win the game. I have to warn you though. Even with the shields on I got attacked and destroyed many times before I could complete the sequence (I guess you just need to try as long until you succeed), so save frequently. If you leave you’ll have to start the sequence all over again the next time! There’s a lot of things I haven’t mentioned, but you can discover them out for yourself. These are the most important guideline tips on how to end the game. BUT I was really disappointed with this ending. The reason for my disappointment was the fact, that I could finish long before that (and actually did, but felt that there has to be more to the story)! The quick way to finish! Get the Mighty Fence Booster, SeekerTwo MLoader and some Quietus missiles. Fly to LOSTEN (sector 2.6, third planet). Attack the MASTERSHIP! If you’re quick enough you’ll destroy the MCR with the first two missiles before you’ll be destroyed. Ass soon as the MASTERSHIP blows up – you win! Simple right! I think there still may be more to the story! Maybe there are other artifacts you can recover. I know that there should be some translator which enables you to talk to the Sasha (the worm creatures). I don’t know if yu get any important information from them, but there might be something about them. The Altec Hoker do say the Sassha are misunderstood creatures (so maybe they can really help). Also there are the Belliscorian raiders. They were chased from their planet by the Korok. I haven’t tried communicating with them much, because that usually ended up in a fight (or me running), but they also have some legends about the Lostenianse. The thing is, that basically all creatures have some myths about it – just ask them about the planet LOSTEN (the Arden will say Less Ten, the Musin Losthome, the Phelonese L’ten, the Ursor Lowhome…). There also may be something more on the planet – I haven’t sent the Arch Bot down too many times, maybe it can dig up some more relics. But the fact is that after I saw this ending (and I really worked hard to get there) I was so disappointed, I couldn’t bare spending some more days to find out there are simply just a few more ways to destroy the MCR and nothing more.
